How we verify

Most directories show a "Verified" tick that means nothing in particular. This one states which specific thing is true for each listing, and publishes the counts below. They're computed from the live data every time the site builds, so they can't drift from reality.

The tiers

Owner verified
0 of 1245 listings
The studio claimed this listing and confirmed the details themselves.
Website confirmed
955 of 1245 listings
The studio's own website advertises permanent jewelry. We link the page we found it on.
Listing confirmed
290 of 1245 listings
A current Google Business listing under a name that states permanent jewelry, but we could not reach a website to confirm the service.

What we actually did

Studios were found by searching Google Places across metros and their suburbs, in the vocabulary people actually use — permanent jewelry, welded bracelet, forever bracelet, permanent bracelet.

That search alone is not evidence. Asking Google for "permanent jewelry Dallas" returns plain jewellers, nail salons and boutiques that have never welded a chain. So every candidate was then checked against its own website: we read the homepage and up to three likely sub-pages looking for the business itself advertising the service. Where we found it, we link the exact page on the listing.

A listing is published only if its own website confirms the service, or its business name states it outright. Everything else — the large majority of what the search returned — was discarded rather than padded in to make the numbers look better.

Prices, metals and services shown on listings were read from those same websites on the date stamped on each listing. Studios change their prices without telling us.

What we have not done

  • We have not visited any of these studios.
  • We have not phoned them. Only the 0 owner-verified listings involved a person at the business confirming anything.
  • We do not rank, rate or review studios, and we don't collect user reviews.
  • The star ratings shown are Google's, labelled as Google's. We don't restate them as our own aggregate rating.
  • 290 listings have no website we could reach — worth a call before you travel.

Paid placement

Studios can pay to appear in a Featured block above a city list. That block is labelled as paid, and it does not change the order of the main list underneath it, which is sorted by evidence tier and listing completeness only.

Paying does not earn a higher evidence tier. A Featured studio with no website evidence still shows as listing-confirmed. What advertising does and doesn't do.

Some pages in the studio-owner section carry affiliate links, marked as such and disclosed at the top of the page.
